2009 General Assembly Update
The 2009 General Assembly Session has come to a close. This year, we considered over 2,300 bills and resolutions during our 45 day “short” Session. During this year’s session, House Republicans successfully advanced legislation that will help protect jobs, keep our communities safe, improve public education, support renewable energy development, increase access to affordable health care, and support our veterans without raising taxes on Virginia families.
I have compiled an extensive bill list to keep you up to date on the status of many important bills that came before the General Assembly this year. The bills below have been separated into the following categories: business and jobs, public safety, education, energy and environment, health care, taxes and finance, technology, transportation, general laws, government reforms, local government, and veterans and military service members.
